Return to work with confidence
Feel a sense of clarity and control about what's truly important to you, what your career means to you and how you can thrive in your new role as a working parent.
So often we put all our energy and focus into our children transitioning into childcare. But what about your transition back to work?
Perhaps you’re excited to:
BUT (and this is a big but) you’re:
This course will equip you with the tools and support to feel more confident and in control of your return to work.
Taking this course a few months before your return to work will help you identify what questions to ask and what support you need. And how to get it.
The thing is, the people you live and work with aren’t mind readers. If you don't communicate what you need they may not know how to help - even if they've known you for years.
Until you become a working parent, you don’t realise the importance and value of having people around you who’ve been there and understand what you’re going through.
Together, we'll take practical steps to name and set up your support networks, both at home and work. You'll also get your own support group of other course participants.
Develop the emotional tools and resources to process the concerns and questions that are lingering in your mind.
Gain the clarity to make decisions based on your personal and professional priorities. Then articulate them with confidence.
Boundaries are one of the most helpful tools in your toolkit for success - at work and at home.
We'll get them aligned with your unique values and ambitions, making sure they properly protect your well-being too.
This course offers a forum to connect and share with people who are navigating the path and to feel supported in the choices you make in being a working mum, whatever they may be.
You’ll get access to a community filled with empathy and understanding; enabling you to realise and create what’s truly important to you.
Reconnect to you
How could we start anywhere else than with you? You’ve gone through a life-changing transition. We’ll embrace that change. Together, we’ll reflect on what really matters to you now. You’ll identify your values and define your new version of success.
Reconnecting with what’s truly important to you will give you the confidence and clarity you need to make decisions that align with your personal and professional priorities.
Reconnect to your professional identity
Returning mums often fear that a fulfilling career AND motherhood is just not an option. This chapter will dispel that myth and instead - bring your strengths and skills back into the limelight.
We’ll reflect on the undeniable value you bring to work - both as an experienced professional and as a Mum with a new set of transferable skills. You'll see how focusing on the work that aligns with your purpose and ambitions improves your performance and reduces the guilt.
Get foundations in place at home
“How on earth am I going to juggle all of this?” It’s a question asked by so many mums returning to work. Overwhelmed and anxious at the thought of being the mother, the daughter, the partner, the worker, the friend.
You’re not alone in feeling guilt or shame that you can’t handle everything on your own. The answer is - you’re not supposed to. Together, we’ll delve into the art of the juggle - exploring ways to ask for help and create boundaries.
Shape your role for performance
By this point in the course, you'll have a clear vision for what you want next from your career. In this chapter, you'll define the detail and turn it into reality.
How you approach and communicate your hopes and requests is key. We’ll focus on taking ownership of your career - being open, collaborative and ready to compromise. After all, your boss is not a mind-reader and they have their own priorities.
A toolkit for your first month back
The first month back at work can be like entering a whole new world. You may simultaneously feel like you left only yesterday and like you left a lifetime ago. And that's OK.
It's an opportunity to start afresh - with new habits, a renewed sense of confidence and control. This chapter arms you with practical tools and guidance to ease the transition and have you feeling settled sooner rather than later.
